Rotary Club honors academic excellence

The Rotary Club of Thomasville honored Christopher Carpenter of Thomasville High School, Riley Jones of Thomas County Central High School and Will Saunders of Brookwood School as the club’s Academic Students of theMonth. Carpenter’s community involvement, academic rigor and grade point average, and his SAT score earned him the recognition. He received the Georgia Merit and numerous other awards.
He’s active in band, GUNA Youth Assembly and the National Honor Society.
Jones was selected for his outstanding academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities and communityservice. He received the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, made the Bainbridge State College Honors List and for two years was the Literary Meet Region Winner for Argumentative Essay He’s active in the Future Business Leaders of America, the National Honor Society and the Student Council.
The honor went to Saunders because of his academic excellence and the respect afforded by faculty. He was the STAR Student 2018, received the Georgia Certificate of Merit and is a National Honor Society member.
He’s involved in the Student Government Association and the Brookwood Booster Club Project Assistance, and he’s on his school’s baseball team.
