Brookwood Literary members win region

Brookwood School’s literary team competed on Monday, March 5 in the GISA Region 3AAA Literary Competition at Albany State University. Other teams competing were Southland Academy from Americus, Deerfield-Windsor from Albany, Valwood School from Valdosta, and Tiftarea Academy from TiftonBrookwood took first place in the region with strong individual success in a number of events:
Girls’ Solo:
Lauren Ryan - Second place

Boys’ Solo:
Trenton Newman - First place

Girls’ Trio:
Maryam Sibley, Lauren Ryan, Lilly Jackson - Second Place

Boys’ Quartet:
Trenton Newman, Wyatt Whitfield, Landon Carter, Jackson Clendenin- First place

Personal Essay:
Madeline Gordon - Second place

Argumentative Essay:
Julia Johnson- Second Place

Spelling:
Madeline Gordon- Second place

Extemporaneous Speaking (National):
Raleigh Rollins- First Place

Dramatic Oral Interpretation:
Brianna Beach- First place

First and second place winners will travel to the GISA State Literary Tournament on Tuesday, March 20.
