Chubb ‘82 announced as Brookwood Commencement speaker

Brookwood School’s 2024 Commencement speaker will be Thomas C. Chubb III. Chubb is a 1982 graduate of Brookwood and is currently Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Oxford Industries, Inc., an Atlanta-based company and the parent company of lifestyle brands such as Tommy Bahama, Lilly Pulitzer, Johnny Was, Southern Tide, The Beaufort Bonnet Company, and Duck Head.

During his time at Brookwood, he received the 1981 Creativity in Math Award and the 1982 Woodman Life
History Award. Chubb was the 1982 Professional Association of Georgia Educators STAR Student.

After graduating from Brookwood, Chubb attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he
earned his degree in Economics. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law.

With over three decades of experience within Oxford Industries, Chubb has served in numerous positions,
including executive vice president, member and president of the board of directors, chairman, chief executive officer and president. As the embodiment of Oxford's values, Chubb prioritizes sustainable practices across products and operations and actively engages in initiatives to enhance the quality of life in local communities, thus contributing to a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Additionally, Chubb has served as a member of the Flowers Foods’ board of directors since 2020 and is the presiding director and chair of the nominating/corporate governance committee.

The Brookwood alum eagerly anticipates the opportunity to share in the 2024 commencement ceremony.
