The Brookwood Warriors baseball team failed to crack the win column on Friday night, playing at Wakulla Christian.

The Warriors scored the first two runs but failed to keep the Saints from marching away with a 6-2 victory. The Warriors dropped to 0-4, having been outscored 36-4 so far this season.

Michael Hightower and Owen Bodell paced the Warriors offense with two hits each, while Jacob Dunlop and Toby Trumbower each added a hit. Brookwood finished with six hits but struck out eight times.

Dunlop was served the loss on the mound, though he struck out five and allowed five hits and three earned runs in 4.2 innings pitched. William Marler pitched the final 1.1 innings, allowing two earned runs and one hit.

Brookwood started strong, scoring two runs in the first inning. Hightower and Bodell led off with hits followed by Jarrett Parr’s sacrifice fly that scored a run. A couple of batters later, Trumbower delivered an RBI single that plated Marler.

Wakulla Christian responded, however, with single runs in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings and two in the sixth to pull away for the win.

Brookwood will return to the diamond on Tuesday at home against Georgia Christian.
