Brookwood School’s fifth grade class toured Savannah, G.A. for three days earlier this month.
Their trip began with the exploration of the historic city’s reputable River Street and a ghost tour.
They later enjoyed a trolley tour as well as tours of First African Baptist Church, the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, and Battlefield Memorial Park. They ended a fact-filled day with a fun silent disco party. Students danced to music broadcasted through wireless headphones, a favorite of many.
Before their departure, the class indulge in a Civil War Learning Adventure at Whitemarsh Island.
Fifth grade teacher Mrs. Kelli Zolt accompanied her students to Savannah. She said this about the trip: “The Savannah trip is a much anticipated tradition for Brookwood students because they are able to make lifelong memories with each other while being immersed in a city rich with history and culture. From exploring old military forts and reenacting battles to touring the beautiful downtown by trolley and horse-drawn carriage, the trip makes learning come to life for our fifth graders.”
