Brookwood athletics announces new head girls soccer coach

Brookwood School will have new leadership on the girls side of the soccer program. After two years of serving as the Middle School girls head coach and varsity assistant, Katrina Sun has been named the Head Girls Soccer Coach. Athletic Director  Shane Boggs notes, “I'm excited about Katrina’s new role.  Her vision, organization, and skillset will add to what is already a great athletic experience at Brookwood.”

Sun will be the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach and will oversee all levels of girls soccer. Sun has a combined eight years of coaching experience with TASA, Warner/ASG, and at Brookwood and has served in multiple leadership capacities including Director, Head Coach, and assistant coach. Sun holds a US Soccer National C License and is the parent of three Brookwood students, Kenji ‘27, Kami ‘30, and Kai ‘32.

“I am very excited to lead the girls soccer program at Brookwood School,” Sun said. “Coach Eddie Foy has done an amazing job with the girls soccer program, and I am fortunate to continue what he has established. My vision is to continue to run the program striving for excellence and to instill success, growth, and leadership among the girls in the soccer program.” Foy will continue to lead the boys soccer program.

Coach Sun will begin working in this new role in January as conditioning and small group work begins. The first full team practice will be on January 20.

“Coach Sun has earned the respect of the Brookwood community. Katrina has displayed a knowledge of the game and has quality relationships with many of our players.  I look forward to watching our team continue to grow under Katrina’s leadership,” Boggs remarked.
