THOMASVILLE -- Brookwood School has announced the hiring of Bill Cook as the new Upper School Director, effective June 2022.

“The position at Brookwood immediately caught my attention, as I attended a community-centered school while growing up and believe that my talents and passions are best suited to that type of school culture and environment,” Cook shared. “The close-knit, family-like environment and welcoming atmosphere are things that initially attracted me to Brookwood and sold me on becoming a part of the Brookwood family.”

Cook’s original profession was engineering. He worked for Exxon as well as ENCOM Associates, for which he was the President and owner.

In 2010, he made the transition to teaching at North Raleigh Christian Academy, where he has worked for over a decade. He has served as a Middle School science teacher and Assistant Secondary Principal. He has also coached several sports, including baseball and football as head coach, and basketball, softball, and strength as an assistant.

He has a wide array of leadership experiences. In addition to his strong track record in educational leadership, he has led as an athlete, coach, teacher, and businessman. His background in engineering will be an asset as we think strategically about our future. In his visits to Brookwood, he immediately forged strong relationships; it is obvious that he cares about students, faculty, and will be an outstanding teammate.”
