Brookwood Basketball Sweeps Valwood on Senior Night

Brookwood Basketball started Region play with an early Senior Night and two big wins over rival Valwood!
 
The Lady Warriors dominated from start to finish, holding a 38-13 halftime lead and keeping Valwood scoreless in the second half en route to a 68-13 final score. All 13 Lady Warriors in uniform scored, sharing the basketball for 18 assists and forcing 44 Valwood turnovers. Ann Murray Jackson grabbed 6 rebounds, Rayne Deese dished 5 assists, Ella Grace Squires had 8 deflections, and Maddie Duncan swiped 5 steals.
 
After a back and forth start in the boys game, the Warriors regained a 17-16 lead in the middle of the second quarter on a Dallas Forsyth 3-pointer and never trailed again. Davis Ledford and TJ Thomas made all four free throw attempts in the final 10 seconds to seal the 59-54 win. Jack Boltja led the way offensively with 23 points. It was the 10th straight Region win in the Beverly Athletic Center for the boys, stretching back to 2018.

The Lady Warriors travel to Camilla on Thursday for a game against Westwood. Both teams travel to Tiftarea Academy on Friday for another Region set.
