Lady Warriors Walk-Off Again! 4-3 Win Over Terrell Academy

The Lady Warriors have had a knack for finishing exciting games at Fenlon Field on campus this season. After a 6-5 extra inning win over Southland earlier in the year, Brookwood came from behind to win yesterday's game over Terrell Academy 4-3 in the Bottom of the 7th on a walk-off single by Freshman Rylee Hollifield.

After falling behind on Terrell scores in the 1st and 3rd innings, Abby Lee's RBI groundout scored Jessie Wortman from third base to get Brookwood on the board in the Bottom of the 3rd. Another Terrell run put the Lady Eagles up 3-1 heading into the Bottom of the 6th.

Kale Schofill's hard hit grounder in the Bottom of the 6th was well played by the Terrell Academy infield, only to suffer a throwing error at first base. Schofill took advantage with heads-up base-running, making it all the way to third base. Schofill was ready when opportunity knocked again, scoring on a wild pitch to draw Brookwood closer.

The rest of the comeback came in a fury with two outs in the Bottom of the 7th. Down 3-2, and up against the home team's final out, Kendall Boggs came in clutch with a single to keep Brookwood alive. Abby Lee immediately tripled to the left-centerfield gap, scoring Boggs all the way from first to tie it up at 3-3. Freshman Rylee Hollifield calmly stepped in and smacked a walk-off single over the third baseman's head to score Lee for the 4-3 win.

Brookwood travels Thursday to Tiftarea to face the Region foe Lady Panthers.
