Students Remain Committed to Honor at Brookwood School
Virginia Howell ‘27
The Honor Convocation and Signing at Brookwood School is a large part of our community, holding every Brookwood student to a higher standard. Right at the start of school, a school-wide assembly is hosted, bringing together each and every student formally for the first time. A curated, student-based Honor Council enforces the Honor Code, a pledge that states that as a Brookwood student, you “will not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate any of the aforementioned acts.
At the all-school Honor Convocation, senior members of the Honor Council, Catherine Stewart, Ava Bodell, Charles Ball, and Kenji Sun, spoke of plagiarism, lying, stealing, and cheating. Headmaster Dr. Randy Watts and Upper School Dean Mr. Bill Byce gave speeches to students, encouraging them to continue working honestly and with integrity.
All Brookwood students sign their names as a commitment to uphold the Honor Code following the assembly each year.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
