Friday Night Lights: Blue/White Game

The 2017 edition of Brookwood Warriors Varsity Football debuts tomorrow night, July 28th, at 7:00 PM with the annual Blue/White Scrimmage to kick off the year. Coach Shane Boggs returns for his 11th season as Head Coach of the Warriors.

The coaching staff has two new faces in Jeff Stanley and Rodger Walker. Stanley moved to Thomasville at the beginning of the summer with his wife, Sarah, and two young boys. He will serve as the team's Defensive Coordinator as well as lead the Strength & Conditioning program. Walker, a 2009 graduate, returns to coach the slot receivers for his alma mater. In his time as a Warrior, Walker won GISA State Championships in both football and basketball.

This year's team includes nine seniors, with experienced returners on the Offensive and Defensive Lines. The team's skill position players, Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs, improved this summer competing in multiple 7-on-7 tournaments.

Tomorrow night's Blue/White Game will be played on the short practice field on the side of Beverly Athletic Center, as renovations to Warrior Stadium are under way and on track to be completed by the first home game set for August 25th.

The Warriors will have an official scrimmage next Friday, August 4th, in Columbus against Brookstone.
