Lady Warriors take sole possession of first in region

Thomasville Times-Enterprise
The Brookwood Lady Warriors won Tuesday's battle of teams that were both 2-0 in the region, beating Tiftarea Academy at home 52-46.

A 20-9 advantage in the second quarter proved to be the turning point after trailing by four at the end of the first quarter.

Rayne Deese knocked down four 3-pointers and Ella Grace Squires and Maddie Duncan combined for 19 rebounds.

The win puts Brookwood atop the AAA-3 Region standings at 3-0 after sweeping the first round of region matchups.

"It was a selfless team win,” head coach Todd Webb said. “It's awesome to see your two leading scorers for the season, Ella Grace Squires and Eliza Eiford, lead your team with 11 combined assists.

"I thought our conditioning was a factor, too. They couldn't keep up with the tempo we played."
