Warriors Salute Veterans

Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Staff Report
THOMASVILLE -- Brookwood School students of all ages paid tribute to our nation’s veterans in many ways this Veterans Day. The fifth grade students held their annual Veterans Day program earlier in the month complete with patriotic songs and a celebration of the veterans in their family with a slideshow presentation. The program ended with the students singing the Armed Forces medley and inviting veterans to stand when their branch of service’s song was sung.

Some of our youngest Warriors in kindergarten made thank you cards that will be sent to active duty soldiers and veterans they know personally.

Middle School students participated in an educational morning assembly where they learned why we celebrate Veterans Day and the importance of the many sacrifices veterans and their families make for us every day. During the assembly, they honored their math teacher and Navy veteran, Mr. Terry Howell. They presented him with a wooden cut out of the United States painted with the American flag as a small token of appreciation.
