Honoring Excellence: Brookwood Recognizes Standout Students

With the close of the school year in sight, Brookwood School recognized the academic accomplishments of its Upper School students during the annual Honors and Awards Day ceremony on April 23.

Leading the Class of 2026 is valedictorian Mason Brunson, who earned the highest cumulative GPA over his four years at Brookwood. He will deliver the closing address at this year’s commencement ceremony.

Henry Knox, named salutatorian, achieved the second-highest GPA in the class and will offer the opening remarks at graduation—continuing a longstanding Brookwood tradition.

Beyond the top honors, students were recognized across three academic distinctions based on cumulative GPA:

Summa Cum Laude (4.0 and above): James Mizell, Henry Knox, Sam Bryant, Mason Brunson, Briggs Daniel, Jackson Horne, Jack Spence, Will Stevens, Audrey Mizell, Avery Bentley, Maggie Brock, Pierce Garland, Eva Nicholson, and Sims Wetherbee.

Magna Cum Laude (3.67 and above): Harrison Chapura, Jarrett Parr, Avery Tate, Courtney Wolsfelt, Laney Oebel, Audrey Harrison, Addison Gamble, Brylee Bates, and Halle Ramsey.

Cum Laude (3.33 and above): Wyatt Vaughn, Jack Tuten, Pearce Hightower, Mason Howell, Rett Groeneveld, Wyatt Davis, Wimberly Jones, Lulu Watkins, and Keane Katherine West.

Graduation for the Class of 2026 will be held on Saturday, May 16, in the Joe and Mary Beverly Athletic Center, with a livestream available for those unable to attend in person.
