Brookwood posts back-to-back shutouts in scrimmages

THOMASVILLE– After months of anticipation, the Brookwood Warriors took the field last week for a couple of scrimmages against Scintilla Charter Spartans and Pataula Charter Panthers.

Monday, the Warriors went against Scintilla Charter and dominated, winning 36-0.

Quarterback Pearce Hightower had a great day running and throwing the football, running for two touchdowns and passing for one.

James Mizell also ran the ball well, breaking out for a long run to jumpstart the offense early on.

The defense was suffocating, making key tackles and not letting Scintilla’s quarterback breathe.

They forced multiple fumbles and recovered one, while keeping the Spartans out of the end zone.

On Friday, they took on Pataula Charter and continued their control on defense by posting another shutout winning 16-0.

“Both scrimmages went well for us,” Brookwood Head coach Daryl Jones said. “We were able to stay healthy while making improvement on offense, defense and special teams.”

Jones continued saying, “We look forward to entering the regular season where our opponents will by significantly more challenging.

Coach Jones and the Warriors will open the 2025 season at home on Friday, August 15th against Westfield School at 7:30pm.
