Brookwood soccer wins region title

After a season that saw them win just four games and place last in the region, Brookwood boys' soccer had an incredible bounce-back year. They finished the 2024-2025 season with an overall record of 10-1 and went undefeated in the region to capture the region championship.

The Warriors averaged just over five goals per game and never failed to score less than three. Brookwood opened up its season with a tough 4-3 loss to Atkinson County. But after that initial loss, the Warriors became unstoppable. They won ten straight including a 6-2 win over Thomasville and back-to-back wins over Georgia Christian by a combined 18-0. They had six shut out wins, which included their last three contests that they won by a combined 14-0.

In region play, the Warriors were nothing short of magical. They allowed just one goal in four region games and beat their region opponents by a combined 20- 1.

Brookwood was spurred on this season by Junior Harrison Chapura. Chapura averaged two goals per game and finished the season with 20. He led the Warriors with 49 points and was supported by sophomore Kenji Sun, who had 14 goals of his own and led the team with 15 assists.

Brookwood finished number two in the Georgia GIAA AAA rankings according to MaxPreps, just behind Westminster Schools of Augusta.
