The Lady Warriors were unable to keep pace with Westwood, falling by a final score of 7-4.

In the Bottom of the 2nd, Anna Stencel's double scored Ann Murray Jackson from second base after Jackson had reached on her own double. That early score knotted the game at 1-1.

Westwood took a 3-1 lead with a run in the fourth and fifth innings. After Brookwood pulled the score back to 3-2, Westwood scored on some aggressive baserunning to open it back up to 4-2. The Warriors plated two runs in the Bottom of the 7th, but the rally was cut short.

The Lady Warriors start GISA AAA-3 Region play on Monday, hosting Tiftarea Academy. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Middle School
In a high-scoring affair, the younger Lady Warriors lost a thriller by the final score of 17-15 to Westwood.

Coach Kristi Heim: "Great game with a lot of hands on learning. Outstanding players of last nights game include our pitcher Kendall Boggs who wrapped up the game with a double and a triple. Mary Claire Chapman and Morgan Boggs also came through with a hit a piece in the game. The other players did a great job at being patient at the plate and drawing a few walks. Rylee Hollifield and Audrey Harrison stepped up and made a couple of good infield plays as well. Overall we are excited to have started the season and looking forward to Monday’s game."
