Rotary Club honors top students

Jenna '18 received recognition as Rotary Club Student of the Month for her academic excellence, leadership potential, and respect from her peers and faculty at Brookwood School.
The Rotary Club of Thomasville honored Celia Kornegay of Thomas County Central High School, Jenna Merschman of Brookwood School and Anne Clifton of Thomasville High School as its Academic Students of the Month. Kornegay ranks first out of a class of 275 students. She’s active in schoolclubs and activities, and she’s completed more than 130 hours of community service. She took first place in the International Environmental Youth Symposium, received the NOAA Taking the Pulse of the Planet Award and is a Georgia Governor’s Honors finalist in science. She’s in the marching band and a Dazzler captain, on themath team and captain of Science Olympiad.
Academic excellence, leadership potential, and respect afforded by the faculty and students won the honor for Merschman.
She’s homecoming queen and has made the Headmaster’s List throughout her high school career.
She’s involved in tennis, the Thomasville Music and Dance Troupe, and cheerleading.
Clifton was selected because of her community involvement, her academic rigor and her SAT score.
She has the highest overall grade-point average and is a Georgia Merit student. She is editor of the yearbook and involved in Hearts and Hands and the National Honor Society.
