After attempting to start the season on Tuesday but being forced to reschedule due to lightning, the Warriors defense came up big. Landry Joyner pitched a complete game, striking out 10 batters and allowing only two hits in her seven innings of work. The defense behind her made every play they were supposed to.

"I am so proud of the entire defense," noted Coach Christa Boggs, "We had no errors today. To play an error free game in our season opener is a testament to the work these girls have been putting in over the summer."

Abbie Bustle scored the game's only run in the bottom of the third inning. After reaching first base and stealing second, Dara Moore scored Bustle with an RBI double to the gap.

The team takes the field again Monday, hosting Thomasville High. First pitch is set for 4:30 at home on Fenlon Field.
