The Brookwood School Cross Country teams had a strong showing at the Lee County Invitational on September 6.
Wesley Warren ‘27 led the boys varsity team, finishing 4th out of 290 runners with a time of 17:19 -- which is 27 seconds faster than his time at this same meet last year. Warren was followed by Brooks Clay ‘27, Beau Posey ‘28, who set a new PR of 23:07, and John Brett Tinney ‘28.
The girls varsity team was led by Olivia Mizell ‘29, who placed 32nd out of 199 runners, followed by Pierce Garland ‘26, who set a new PR of 26:38, Audrey Mizell ‘26, who reached a season-best time of 30:43, and Virginia Howell ‘27.
Ryder Hanke '30 placed 8th out of 230 runners for the boys Middle School team with a time of 12:30, which is 20 seconds faster than his time at this same meet last year. Tristan Jones '32 placed 17th with a time of 13:12, followed by Hank Howell '31, who notched a new PR (17:09), and Miller Holt '32.
Savannah Posey '30 led the girls Middle School team, placing 12th out of 194 runners with a time of 14:34, followed by Rives Clay '32 (14:42), Ellie Schweikert '32 (14:43), and Marley Hanke '32 (17:16).
