Brookwood students deepen understanding of scientific concepts
The bustling science department at Brookwood School is a hub of exploration and discovery, engaging students of all ages in hands-on learning experiences. Recently, Lower School students applied STEAM aspects to an engaging Valentine’s Day themed activity. Middle Schoolers collaborated on a dissection and further studied engineering principles with an egg drop experiment. Meanwhile, Upper School students explored the internal workings of cephalopods.
Eliza Davis ‘31 applied theoretical concepts learned in class to her candy heart catapult project.
Ashton Moon ‘29 learned more about anatomy and ecology through a frog dissection.
Eighth graders used engineering principles to create containers that allowed an egg to withstand a drop from Warrior Stadium bleachers. Noah Stanfill ‘28 nestled his egg in popcorn, resulting in a successful drop!
Diving deep into marine science, seniors Alex Perry and Hayes Tyson explored the anatomy of a squid.
Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
