Sean Landeta to Lead Brookwood Cross Country

Brookwood Athletics is pleased to announce Sean Landeta as the new Head Coach of the Cross Country team. Landeta was the assistant coach last season to Maureen Springfield when the Warriors Boys team captured the Region title and the Lady Warriors finished as Region runner-up.

“I am really looking forward to leading the cross country team as the head coach this year. I had a blast assisting Coach Springfield and am excited to continue working with our runners in this new role,” said Landeta.

Landeta has a passion for the sport, competing as a marathon runner and in ironman competitions. His experience and familiarity with the program should pay dividends immediately to build on last year’s success and momentum for the sport on campus. The Warriors return the individual Region Champ from last year in Kent Grayson, as well as another Top-10 finisher in Zack Counts. The Lady Warriors return both of their Top-10 finishers from last year’s Region meet, in rising Juniors Katie Knifer and Peggy Boltja.

Athletic Director Shane Boggs noted, “I’m excited about the future of Brookwood Cross Country. We have a great core group of runners. Coach Landeta brings a passion for the sport and will continue to develop our talented runners.”
