State Champions! Brookwood's Moore and Lauderdale win at GISA AAA State Track Meet

Brookwood Warrior athletes competed in the GISA State Track & Field Meet and came home with some much deserved hardware.

Senior Jacob Lauderdale won the Boys Triple Jump in Class AAA with a mark of 40 feet, 8.5 inches. Sophomore Destin Moore ran away with the Boys 100m dash, running 10.96 time. Moore also came in second in the 200m race. The two sprints scored 18 points, allowing Moore to place 4th individually among all Male scorers in the AAA meet.

On the Girls side, Peggy Boltja was outstanding all weekend. She finished 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, and 5th in the 400m races. Boltja also contributed to the 4x100 team and finished 9th among all female scorers in the AAA meet.

The team has some exciting youth coming up the ranks. Kent Grayson placed 3rd in the Boys 3200m, Abby Stalvey finished 6th in the Girls 3200m, and Carriyona Williams placed 6th in the Girls 100m Hurdles. Grayson, Stalvey, and Williams more than held their own competing at the Varsity State Meet in just 8th grade.
