Lady Warriors Track & Field wins Region Championship!
The Brookwood Track & Field teams competed at the AAA-3 Region Meet on Wednesday, with the Lady Warriors taking the team championship in a tight contest over runner-up Southland Academy. Brookwood's team score of 193.5 edged out Southland's 184.5 for the title. Tiftarea and Valwood finished 3rd and 4th.
Peggy Boltja was the standout of the day for Brookwood. The Sophomore won the 100m, 200m, and 400m races individually. She also contributed to the winning 4x100 team and the second place 4x400 team.
On the Boys side, highlights for Brookwood included Destin Moore taking 1st place in both the 100m and 200m races while Kent Grayson won the 3200m race going away. Grayson also placed second in the 1600m and third in the 800m, competing in Varsity as only an 8th grader.
In Field events, Ella Grace Squires and Trinity Geerdts finished 1-2 in the Girls High Jump. Jacob Lauderdale and Ainsley Jacobson both won their respective Triple Jump competitions for Boys and Girls.
