Maureen Springfield to Lead Cross Country

Brookwood Cross Country has a new head coach in Maureen Springfield. Springfield has served as the Warriors’ Cross Country assistant coach in multiple stints since 2010. She has sponsored the Girls Running Strong club on campus for three years, building interest in running with the younger ages with fourth and fifth grade girls. Many of those girls will compete with the Middle School team this year.

“I’m looking forward to working with all of the Middle and Upper School runners, especially some of my former Girls Running Strong members!” said Springfield.

Still an avid runner herself, Springfield still competes in various half marathons and even recently completed a full marathon. She has taught Middle School and Upper School Art at Brookwood since 2003.

“I am pleased to announce that Coach Maureen Springfield will lead our Cross Country program. She has had a positive impact on our runners for a long time. I am confident that her leadership will create a positive experience for our student-athletes,” noted Athletic Director Shane Boggs.

Sean Landeta will assist Springfield as an assistant coach. A schedule of meets will be announced soon once finalized.
