Marbles ride on coasters to bring home physics lessons

Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Staff Report
THOMASVILLE - Brookwood School physics students were recently tasked with building a marble roller coaster. The analysis of the roller coaster included determining the average velocity, average acceleration, work, kinetic energy, potential energy, and the conservation of momentum of the roller coaster. A roller coaster incorporates many physics concepts, and the students were able to look at those concepts in a meaningful, hands-on way.
