Varsity Golf
The Varsity Golf team hosted Lowndes High School at Glen Arven Country Club on Thursday and cruised to a season-opening win by the final score of 299 to 336. Brookwood was led by Sam Barrett, who shot a two-under par 70 for the day. Jack Boltja (72), Katherine Cook (77), and Jay Sanders (80) also posted impressive rounds.

The Warriors will return to the course Thursday, hosting Region foe Valwood at Glen Arven Country Club.

Boys Varsity Tennis
Boys Tennis took the court Friday for their first time this year, traveling to Tallahassee to face Maclay School. The Warriors were dominant in their sweep of the Marauders, as Andrew Cooper, Jack Thompson, Nic Kadel, and Taylor Huffman all won their singles matches. Cooper/Thompson and Kadel/Huffman paired up to win each of the doubles matches as well.

Quotes from Coach Marsh:
"I was impressed by the play of both teams.  It is going to be another great season for Brookwood."

"The Men's team did an heck of a job dominating the competition.  Andrew Cooper, Nic Kadel, Jack Thompson and Taylor Huffman have put in some amazing work during the off-season."

Girls Varsity Tennis
The Girls were not as fortunate as the Boys, being swept by an impressive Lady Marauders club.

Quotes from Coach Marsh:
"The Women's score does not reflect how hard they fought, and how proud I am of their Warrior spirit. We have 16 women on the team and there is tons of potential and talent. Cricket Daniel and Abby Cook bring great senior leadership and hit the ball very well today. I was impressed by the play of Brett Heath, who played a wonderful singles match.  Also, Abby Lee and Anna Stencel made their Brookwood Tennis debut and played well. We are fortunate to have Danyelle Copeland as an assistant coach.  She possess the skills to help these teams grow."

The Tennis Warriors return to the court Monday against Region opponent Tiftarea Academy. The match will be hosted by Brookwood at Glen Arven Country Club, starting at 3:00 p.m.
