On February 8, Jack Hadley, president of the Jack Hadley Black History Museum, spoke to the Brookwood Middle School about his work of highlighting the African American history of the community. Mr. Hadley not only shared history and African American artifacts of this area, he also led discussion on how the community can learn from its past and build a better future.
His remarks were inspiring, and he shared about his most recent project restoring of the Imperial Hotel on West Jackson Street. Demarcus Underwood, education director at the museum, will continue to work with the Brookwood eighth grade U.S. History classes in March.
