Brookwood Cross Country off to strong start

ALBANY– The Brookwood cross country teams started the 2025 season at the Sherwood Around the Cross Invitational this past weekend.  

The girls started out first, and they finished fourth out of the five schools in the event. The highest finisher was Olivia Mizell as placed 13th with a time of 26:53.  

Pierce Garland crossed the line with a time of 29:54 placing her at 27th. Avery Bentley and Annabel Lanier finished 29th and 30th respectively. Bentley had a time of 30:31 and Lanier posted a time of 31:01.

The boys did well also, finishing fourth out of eight teams.  

Wesley Warren paced the team with a fourth place finish, with a time of 18:30. Mason Brunson crossed the line 13th, timed at 20:56.  

The final finisher for the Warriors was Beau Posey, who came in 40th with a time of 24:19.

The next event for Brookwood will be the Yellow Jacket Invitational on August 30th. The girls will run at 8:00am and the guys will run at 8:45am.
