Brookwood School Earns Top Honors at Region Literary Competition
Brookwood School showcased its talent and dedication at the recent region Literary competition, finishing as the second runner-up overall. This year, the team welcomed several new participants, providing them with valuable experience for future competitions. Their hard work and preparation paid off, as multiple students secured top placements and advanced to the state literary event in two weeks.

Mason Brunson ‘26 – 2nd Place, Spelling Pierce Garland ‘26 – 2nd Place, Personal Essay Reagan Burrus ‘27 – 2nd Place, Dramatic Interpretation John Roesel ‘25 – 1st Place, Extemporaneous Speaking Matthew Lauderdale ‘25 – 1st Place, Lower Solo Reagan Burrus ‘27, Katybelle Bennett ‘29, Rett Groeneveld ‘26, and Matthew Lauderdale ‘25 – 2nd Place, Quartet
“We are incredibly proud of our team’s performance,” said Literary Sponsor Kendra Burrus. “Their dedication and passion for the arts and literature were evident, and it’s exciting to see so many of our students advance to the state level.”
The students will now turn their focus toward the state literary competition, where they will represent Brookwood against top talent from across Georgia.
