To the Brookwood Family:
We hope that you are doing well and continuing to adjust to all of the opportunities and challenges in our new normal.
As we look ahead past Spring Break, there remains ongoing uncertainty about when it will be safe to return to our normal daily activities. Among these many uncertainties is when it will be safe to return to school.
To that end, we expect to remain in Continuous Learning, that is, campus closure, beyond April 6th and for the foreseeable future. I want to be realistic with our students and families that we simply do not know now when it will be advisable to return to school.
What happens next...
Our teachers have been working tirelessly to maintain our standards of academic excellence, as well as continuing to foster strong student-teacher relationships, throughout this time of Continuous Learning. This will continue.
For our Lower School Students, we have arranged a time for parents to pick-up materials for their children needed for ongoing continuous learning. Full details for the pick-up procedure will follow shortly in an email from Mrs. Newcombe.
For our Middle and Upper School students, there are no additional materials that need to be collected.
When will we return to school on Brookwood’s Campus?
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!
As we have been doing, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, along with national, state, and local guidelines and mandates. We will continue to communicate with you about the status and our thoughts and plans about the return to school.
How do I get support?
Your Brookwood Family is here for you! Our community is essential to our school. We will continue with our morning devotions, engaged classrooms, and communication. Our Technology Team, Division Directors, Counselor, ARC Staff, Teachers, and Coaches will continue to be available and will continue to reach out.
What can Brookwood Parents do?
Please let us know how we are doing! We are in an ongoing process of evaluating and soliciting feedback. Please direct your feedback to your child(ren)’s teacher(s), Division Director(s), and so on. Also, if you have had a positive experience with Brookwood during this time, please share your stories!
Final Thoughts…
As I have shared, there is opportunity in crisis. I do not want to minimize our crisis and challenges in any way. That said, this is an opportunity to continue to foster and grow our Brookwood Community. Please reach out to one another. During a time of social distancing, we need social connection more than ever.
Finally, if there have been teachers or coaches who have made an impact in your child’s life at Brookwood, this is a wonderful time to let them know. We all entered this profession to make an impact on the lives of others. It is wonderful to hear when this has been so.
Keep Calm and Warrior On!
Warmly,
