Trailing 6-0 when the game entered the Bottom of the 5th Inning, the Warrior bats got hot at the right time. Anna McBride started the rally with a 2-run inside-the-park homerun on a line drive that just snuck inside the 3rd base line and traveled all the way to the fence. Mollie Vick and Abbie Bustle kept the momentum going, reaching on infield singles.

Abby Lee kept the crowd and the Warriors hopes alive with a 2-run double to the gap in right center. The speed of Vick and Bustle scored easily on the play. A few plays later, Lee completed the big 5th inning by scoring on a wild pitch from 3rd.

The Knights were able to tack on what seemed to be some important insurance runs to bring the score to 8-5. Brookwood entered the Bottom of the 7th down to their final 3 outs.

The final frame started quickly, with the Warriors loading the bases with no outs. Kendall Boggs, only an 8th grader, stepped to the plate and came up big. On the first pitch she saw, she knocked a single through the left side to score two and bring the score to 8-7.

Bailey Noah's bloop single scored Anna Stencel from third base and the Warriors had tied the game at 8-8.

With runners on first and third, with only one out, the same senior who started the rally got her chance to finish it. Anna McBride made good contact and put the ball on the ground towards the Deerfield shortstop. Boggs ran as soon as the ball was in the dirt, using her speed to score from third base. The throw was just late enough and the Warriors had completed a thrilling comeback.

Brookwood travels to Southland tomorrow for their final Region game of the regular season.

Yesterday's win could force a tie-breaker game to be played next week for playoff seeding between the Warriors and Deerfield.
