Warrior Tennis Has Outstanding Day 1 at Individual State Match

The first day of action at GISA Individual State Tennis match was good to the Brookwood players in attendance. All Warrior Singles players and Doubles teams won their 1st Round matches, advancing them to the State Quarterfinal matchups.

In Ladies' Singles action, Jenna Merschman and Cricket Daniel both won their 1st Round match before losing in the Quarterfinals. Merschman defeated Emily Harrison of Trinity Christian-Dublin, while Daniel ousted Irene Lee from Pinewood. On the Men's Singles side, Dallas Forsyth suffered the same fate. Forsyth won his 1st Round match against Conner Gandy of EBA but lost in the Quarterfinals to the state's #1 seeded player, Britton Johnson of William Reed Academy.

For the other Men's Singles action, Landon Carter and Andrew Cooper both advanced to Tuesday's GISA Semifinals with wins in the 1st Round and Quarterfinals. Carter took down Hunter Woods of EBA in the 1st Round while Cooper handled Dylan McHugh of Frederica. Cooper and Carter now are on opposite sides of the bracket in Semifinal matches tomorrow and would meet in the State Championship if they both win earlier in the day.

The doubles teams of Thomas Harrison/Bradley Merschman and Alden Harrison/Nic Kadel both went 2-0 on the day, earning 1st Round and Quarterfinal wins. Both teams advance to Tuesday's Semifinal round. The two pairs now are in opposite Semifinal matches tomorrow and would meet in the State Championship if they both win earlier in the day.
