Beach accepted into Governor’s Honors Program

Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Staff Report
Brianna Beach, a junior at Brookwood School, has been accepted to the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) in Visual Arts and will attend its summer 2018 program. The GHP is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students.
Beach will spend a month this summer studying at Berry College in Rome, Ga., under the tutelage of college professors; she will attend course instruction in the mornings, followed by a wide variety of social and instructional opportunities each evening.
Finalists selected for the GHP must complete a rigorous application and interview process. Meals, room and program costs are covered by the program. Last summer, Brookwood junior Abby Chapman attended the GHP as a dance major.
Beach is a third-year art student with plans to take Advanced Placement Studio Art during her senior year, said art teacher Maureen Harrer.
“Brianna is a very accomplished artist who has won many best-in-shows and numerous awards. This honor and experience will be very helpful in building her AP Studio Art portfolio,” Harrer said.
