Exceptional students earn Rotary honor

The Rotary Club of Thomasville recognized Sara “Haley” Newman of Thomas County Central High School, Myles Felias of Thomasville High and Carson Allen of Brookwood School as the club’s Academic Students of the Month. Newman received the honor for her outstanding academic performance and community service as well as her involvement in extracurricular activities. An AP Scholar, she’s a recipient of the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit. She’s the president of the Future Business Leaders of America and a member of the National Honor Society. And she’s active in the Chick Fil ALeader Academy. Felias earned the recognition for his incredible work ethic, high GPA and involvement in extracurricular activities. He plays on the soccer team, is a member of the National Honor Society and is involved in Football Paintup. Brookwood nominated Allen for his academic excellence, extracurricular involvement and the respect afforded him by teachers and peers. An Eagle Scout, he is on the Headmaster’s List. He’s on his school’s football and basketball teams and is involved in student government.
