Brookwood Warriors baseball receives All-Region honors

William Huff
After an impressive season and an early playoff exit, some Brookwood baseball players have been recognized for their excellent performance on the diamond. Warriors Zack Counts, Parker Lee, Will Elkins, Rodge Waldrop, Isaac Richardson and Chris May were all named as All-Region players.

With a team stacked with seniors, five of the Warriors’ seven seniors were named to the All-Region team. This is a group with very strong leadership skills on and off the field. On the diamond, they were indispensable for the Warriors. Notably, Elkins finished his Warrior career with an incredible pitching performance in the playoffs and in Lee’s second to last at bat for Brookwood, he belted a solo home run.

The Warriors will be returning an All-Region player in Rodge Waldrop. In addition to playing quarterback at an All-State level for Brookwood, Waldrop is an effective pitcher and first baseman.

While the Warriors will certainly miss their seniors, they will have talented players to lean on as they welcome in a new class of freshman. Players like Waldrop, Owen Bodell and Aiden Hunt will have to step up and play a major leadership role for the Warriors to build on this seasons success.
