Williams Wins State Powerlifting Meet, Lady Warriors Place 7th as Team

The Lady Warriors traveled to the GACA Girls State Powerlifting Meet and came away with some impressive performances.

Congratulations to Carriyona Williams! She won her weight class with a total of 510 pounds lifted. She finished first in the bench press (135 lbs) and squat (255 lbs) events in her weight class.

Coach Webb commented, "Carriyona dominated the back squat & bench press for her weight class. She won the back squat by 55 lbs. & bench press by 15 lbs. There wasn't anybody close to her in those two lifts. She was just a few pounds away from being the overall state champion in pound for pound strength in all 10 weight classes. I think she can win that next year.

Libby Jacobson finished 3rd overall in her weight class, Kendall Boggs won the bench press event in her weight class, and multiple other PRs were set.
