Parr wins Weightlifting State Championship!
Ean Parr is the newest State Champion from Brookwood Athletics, winning the GACA 1A State Weightlifting Championship in Louisville over the weekend. Parr weighed in at 172.2 pound of body weight, placing him as one of the lighter competitors in the 171-180 weight class.
Parr set a personal record in the bench press, successfully lifting 255 pounds. His 275 pound power clean gave him a total of 530 for the day. This placed him in a tie atop the weight class with another competitor. By being almost 8 pounds lighter, Parr's body weight won him the tiebreaker to claim 1st place in the class.
Tyler Cleveland competed in the 141 to 150 weight class and took 4th place. Cleveland set personal records in both events, bench pressing 220 pounds and power cleaning 245 pounds for a total of 465 on the day.
