Brookwood Basketball Sweeps Brooks County in Quitman

Brookwood Basketball swept Brooks County High School on Saturday in Quitman. The Warriors and Lady Warriors won all 4 games, with both the JV and Varsity teams coming out on top.

In the Girls Varsity game, Brookwood led 13-0 after the 1st Quarter and 18-0 before Brooks County made their first field goal midway through the 2nd Quarter. The Lady Warriors forced an incredible 56 turnovers by the Lady Trojans, using relentless full court pressure from the beginning of the game. Offensively, Ainsley Jacobson and Jadyn Hester combined for five made 3-pointers while Ella Grace Squires and Eliza Eiford controlled the boards, combining for 13 rebounds in the 40-27 win. The Lady Warriors led by as much as 21 late in the 3rd Quarter by a score of 37-16.

In the last game of the day, Brookwood’s Boys Varsity used balanced scoring and ball movement to defeat the Trojans 61-33. The Warriors had 18 assists on 25 made shots from the floor. Brookwood won each quarter of the game, pulling away throughout with a 19-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter and a 36-16 lead at halftime. Defensively, Brookwood forced 30 Trojan turnovers. Turner Vick led the Warriors with a career-high 15 points. Emery Redrupp went for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Kelton Lewis had 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Rodge Waldrop sparked the Warriors on both ends, finishing with 8 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
