Soccer Girls & Boys Both Capture Wins

Girls Varsity
Brookwood 8, Southland 0
Warrior Girls Varsity Soccer moved to 3-0 in Region play and stayed atop the Region table with yesterday's convincing 8-0 win over visiting Southland Academy at Warrior Stadium.

Hendley Bryan and Jordan Burns each converted hat tricks, combining for six of the Lady Warriors eight goals. Ryan Gaston and Eliza Miller each scored one apiece. Burns, Gaston, Miller, Jessie Wortman, Caroline Miller and Abby Jones each had assists on the night. The defense was flawless on the night, mitigating any Southland chances to score.

Coach Eddie Foy noted there is still room for improvement, saying "We won the game 8-0 but it was not our best performance. It can be difficult to hold standards of play against a team that is unorthodox in their approach. I love the fact we won 8-0 and we know we did not play our best. This should give us the motivation to come back after Spring Break hungry to keep winning and playing well. We fixed our approach to the game at halftime and came out strong in the second half with a much improved performance and hunger to score. We scored 6 second half goals with some outstanding individual and team play."

Boys Varsity
Brookwood 6, Georgia Christian 3

The Warriors had a last second addition to the schedule, deciding to go to Valdosta to face Georgia Christian on Wednesday. It paid off to get a win on the ledger. Robert Gallagher scored a hat trick with three goals while Spencer Richardson, Julian Redrupp, and Nathan Yokley each scored once. Redrupp, Gallagher, Will Porter and Cutter Waldrep each had assists on the night.

Coach Foy saw this as a step in the right direction, getting a win over a tough Georgia Christian club, "Once we organized our shape better and won first and second balls we controlled the game. We some outstanding soccer, one of the best 2nd half performances I have seen us put together this season. We moved the ball very well and scored some truly incredible goals against a strong team that has only lost two games this season."
