Brookwood Tennis Girls, Boys Beat Thomasville High

Brookwood Tennis continued its winning ways this season by defeating Thomasville High School on Monday in both Girls and Boys matches.

On the girls side, gritty and determined play saw the Lady Warriors defeat a tough Thomasville High team to win 3-2.  Abby Lee lost to Jocelyn Watson in a tight match at #1 singles after splitting sets 2-6 and 6-4 to force a 3rd set tiebreaker. Emma Szwarc defeated Katie Zolt, 6-3 & 6-0 at #2 singles, while Elise McPherson downed Abby Gerlemen 6-2 & 6-0 in #3 singles. The same scenario played out on the doubles court, where Thomasville High took a close match at #1 doubles where Sophie Thomas and Lexi Taylor losing 4-6, 2-6, but the match was decided with the #2 doubles team of Rayne Deese and Camille Yarbrough winning for Brookwood with a 6-2, 6-4 decision.
 
The Brookwood boys cruised to another victory winning all lines except #1 singles. This kept Brookwood perfect on the season as a team. Dallas Forsyth won at #2 in a sibling rivalry over his brother Smith Forsyth, 6-0 & 6-0. Alden Harrison took care of #3 singles for Brookwood with a solid 6-1, 6-2 win over Colin Szwarc. In doubles play, both matches were easily handled by the Brookwood teams of Bradley Merschman & Clark Carter at #1 and Wil Kadel and Pearson Taylor at #2. Brookwood took the doubles matches 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1.
