Girls Soccer Blows By Tiftarea, 9-2

Monday night's game against Tiftarea Academy started Region play on a strong note for the Lady Warriors soccer team, running away for a 9-2 win.

Ryan Gaston scored a hat trick and Hutton Daniel netted two goals. The Lady Warriors' other four scores came from Peggy Boltja, Kate Von Hellens, Hendley Bryan, and Jordan Burns.

The scoring explosion was assisted by great passing from Eliza Miller, who had four assists in the game. Kate Von Hellens also had two assists, to go with Jessie Wortman, Abby Jones, and Caroline Miller each tallying one as well.

After two tough losses to Colquitt County and Thomasville High, the Lady Warriors bounced back with a vengeance.

Coach Eddie Foy commented, "First of all our mentality was where it needed to be. We were hungry to improve and show what we can do as a team. We moved the ball much better through the middle and connected passes to feet. We dominated the game and controlled the play. When we switch the ball through the middle we are very dangerous and can get numbers into the attack. Our backline shape and organization were much better. We won our individual battles all over the field. I am excited to keep that momentum going into Thursdays region game v Terrell."

The Lady Warriors will travel to Dawson to face Terrell Academy on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. while looking to improve to 2-0 in Region.
