Brookwood seniors dedicate yearbook to school counselor

Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Staff Report
THOMASVILLE --
The Brookwood School Class of 2020 dedicated their senior yearbook, The Warrior, to School Counselor Mrs. Allison Harrell.

Mrs. Harrell has worked at Brookwood for six years and holds many roles in addition to being the School Counselor. She is a Student Government Association (SGA) sponsor, Warrior Wednesday co-chair, caretaker of Mavis the therapy dog, and head of Middle School advisory groups.

During the dedication, Yearbook Editor Mollie Vick ‘20 referred to Harrell as “the backbone of most events at Brookwood.” She helps organize several annual events including Empty Bowls Full Hearts, the SGA retreat, Homecoming, Fall Festival, and the Father Daughter Dance. In addition to lending her support to SGA and Warrior Wednesday, she helps with Girl Talk, a peer mentor group led by Upper School girls for Middle School
girls.

The Class of 2020 had a long list of complimentary ways to describe Mrs. Harrell, among which were strong, willing to listen, patient, and encouraging. Harrell has been a resource to these students throughout their entire Brookwood career, as she provides emotional and academic assistance to students of all age groups. They are proud to dedicate this year's The Warrior to Mrs. Allison Harrell.

The yearbook dedication has been a tradition at Brookwood School since 1971. It is an honor decided by the senior class.
