Lady Warriors Advance to AAA Final Four!

Just a few nights after defense propeled them to victory in the 1st Round, the Lady Warrior offense stole the show in Friday afternoon's GISA AAA Quarterfinal game. In control with an 18-13 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, the Lady Warriors used six made 3-pointers in the 2nd Quarter to run out to a 44-25 Halftime advantage on Holy Spirit Prep. Erin Lewis swished three, Jordan Burns hit two, and Mollie Vick had one in the 3-point barrage.

The Lady Cougars came in as the defending AAA State Champs but were no match for Brookwood's ball movement, shooting, and pressure defense that dominated the tempo. Up 60-44 going into the 4th Quarter, Brookwood smartly protected its lead and went on to win 69-56.

Ella Grace Squires controlled the paint with 10 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, Lewis grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists, and Vick was a pest defensively with 3 steals.

The win advances the Lady Warriors to next week's AAA Final Four in Americus. This is the first Final Four appearance for Brookwood Girls Basketball since 2008.

They will meet John Milledge Academy on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the Storm Dome on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University. John Milledge was a 44-32 winner over Pinewood Christian in the day's second Quarterfinal.

A familiar foe could be seen in the State Championship, as the other State Semifinal matches Bulloch Academy and Deerfield-Windsor - a Region rival whom the Lady Warriors have already faced three times this season.
