Come over red rover - students build rovers out of upcycled materials

Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Staff Report
As part of their solar system unit, Brookwood School second graders learned about the rovers that are currently on Mars. Using the Mars Curiosity rover as a guideline, students were then given a design challenge. The students were challenged to design a Mars Rover out of available materials. The upcycled rovers were required to mimic two jobs that may be used by a real rover, such as Curiosity, as it explores and tests rock samples. Next week, the completed designs will be presented by students to their classmates and teacher with evidentiary proof of their design criteria.
