Softball Takes Region Win on the Road, Beats Deerfield-Windsor

The Lady Warrior Softball team captured a region win in Albany yesterday, defeating Deerfield-Windsor by a final score of 6-2.

With Abby Lee on the mound, the Lady Warriors kept the Deerfield offense quiet. Lee had 7 strikeouts and allowed only 4 hits in her 7 innings of work.

Offensively, Bailey Noah hit a 2-RBI double in the Top of the 1st to ignite the Lady Warriors to an early 3-0 lead. Deerfield scored an unearned run in the Bottom of the 3rd and another in the 5th inning to close the gap to 3-2.

Noah capitalized on a Lady Knights' error in the 6th inning to score and extend Brookwood's lead, 4-2.  Abby Lee kicked off the 7th inning offense with a double and then scored on a Knight error. Noah had another RBI single to score Abby Jones, giving the Lady Warriors the final 6-2 edge.

Brookwood is now tied with Deerfield for 3rd in the Region, with tomorrow's home game against Southland playing a determining factor for postseason play.
