Lady Warriors Crush Creekside, Advance to Quarterfinal

Brookwood Girls Soccer scored a monumental win, defeating Creekside Christian by a final score of 7-2 in Monday's GISA 1st Round action. It's the Lady Warriors' first playoff win since 2013.

The Warriors didn't waste any time, starting the scoring onslaught early and often. Jordan Burns, from a Peyton Middleton assist, netted the game's first goal less than 10 minutes into play. Mollie Vick followed that up quickly to put the Lady Warriors up 2-0, just over 12 minutes into the 1st Half. Vick's score came from a perfectly placed Eliza Miller corner kick. After Creekside went end-to-end for their only goal of the 1st Half, Holland Walker scored her first goal of the night to put Brookwood comfortably ahead 3-1 with 13 minutes left in the first period.

To ice the game before halftime, Jordan Burns and Holland Walker took over by each scoring their second goals of the night. Burns scored with just over 3 minutes remaining, assisted by Walker. Walker then netted her own second goal - assisted by Burns. Just like that, it was 5-1 going into the lockerroom and the Lady Warriors were on their way to a Quarterfinal matchup.

For good measure in the second half, Holland Walker scored her third and fourth goals just 30 seconds apart - putting the Warriors up 7-1. The star scorer's third goal was a highlight worthy play with her left foot. Creekside tacked on one more goal for the final score of 7-2.

Brookwood advances to play #1-seed Frederica Academy on the road in St. Simon's on Friday. Frederica Academy was victorious over John Milledge, 7-1, in yesterday's 1st Round. Kickoff Friday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
