After both finishing 5-3 in Region play, and tied atop the standings due to splitting the two regular season matchups, a coin flip determined Brookwood would host Wednesday's game against Tiftarea Academy - a de facto championship setting. By choosing to host the game, the Warriors were deemed the "away" team and therefore had to bat in the Top half of each inning.

In the Top of the 3rd, Lance Wortman ran out an infield single to score Colin Clark. Clark had entered as a courtesy runner for Zack Counts (who reached via a walk). Wortman stole 2nd and reached 3rd on an error before scoring on a wild pitch.

The quick 2-0 lead grew to 3-0 in the next inning. JP Chapman's leadoff single and Joe Parker being hit by pitch put runners at 1st & 2nd. Marcus West's SAC bunt successfully moved the runners up to 2nd & 3rd. Parker Mirick's base hit scored Chapman and the Warriors looked to have a big inning in store. A baserunning error cost the Warriors a few more at-bats, ending the threat with a double-play.

After taking the 3-0 lead in the Top of the 4th, the bottom half of the frame saw the Warriors lose that lead to a 3-3 tie when the Panther bats got hot.

Nic Lauderdale was driven in from 2nd by Josh McCaskill, giving the Warriors a 4-3 in the Top of the 5th. The throw from the outfield actually beat Lauderdale to the plate, but Nic’s slide knocked the ball out of the catcher’s mit in a highlight play.

In the Bottom of the 5th, Tiftarea's bats continued to hit and the Panthers took a 5-4 lead.

The Warriors would threaten in their next two chances to bat but couldn't put any runs across the plate.

The loss places Brookwood as the #2 seed from Region 3. They will meet the #3 seed from Region 1, Creekside Christian, in a best-of-3 series at Strickland Field next Monday and Tuesday.

Game 1 on Monday is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. with Game 2 to follow afterward at 6:30 p.m.

Game 3, if necessary, would be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
