Baseball Handles SGA on Senior Day, Wins 12-2

The Warriors had one final tune-up before Wednesday's Region Championship Game, hosting Southwest Georgia Academy on Monday for Senior Day. The team was able to send out its Senior class in style, starting all 7 seniors in the field and lineup. After falling behind 1-0 early, Brookwood turned it on en route to a 12-2 win.

Lance Wortman, Nic Lauderdale, Joe Parker, JP Chapman, and Zack Counts each had 2 RBI on the day. The balance in production was noticeable, with eight different Warriors combining for 13 hits on the day. Brookwood's bats were also patient at the plate, drawing 8 walks.

Senior William Lee got the start on Senior Day, pitching all 6 innings to earn the win. He allowed only 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 7 and walking 3 SGA batters.

The win improves the team to 10-10 overall on the season with a 5-3 Region record. Brookwood will host Tiftarea for the Region Championship on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. The teams split the regular season series, forcing an extra game to decide the Region title and the #1 seed in next week's AAA Playoffs. The Warriors are guaranteed to host a 1st Round series next Monday and Tuesday, April 29th and 30th.
