Girls Soccer Grabs Region Win, Beats Tiftarea 4-1

The Lady Warrior Soccer program took a step towards the playoffs Tuesday, securing another Region victory on the road at Tiftarea, winning 4-1.

Ryan Gaston started the Brookwood scoring, assisted by Mollie Vick, before Holland Walker got in on the action with a goal of her own.

Walker assisted Mollie Vick's goal to put the Warriors comfortably ahead with a third score. Walker added another, this time assisted by Eliza Miller, to give the game a final score of 4-1 over the Lady Panthers.

The defense was strong throughout the game in a driving rain storm and muddy field.

Coach Foy noted the field conditions afterwards, making it difficult: "The girls responded very well to the difficulties we faced in delays with weather for this game. They stayed focused on the job at hand and showed their hunger to win this game. It was difficult to apply our style of play on a waterlogged field but we stayed disciplined in our approach and won the game comfortably."

The Lady Warriors return to action tomorrow at Cairo High School. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by the 7:30 p.m. Boys game.
